Exercise guide
Suspended Row
The Suspended Row uses bodyweight resistance while the hands hold suspension straps. The middle back provides the primary pulling emphasis, with the lats and biceps helping bring the torso toward the handles.
Training context
Using the Suspended Row in a Workout
Difficulty changes with foot position and body angle. Walking the feet forward places the torso closer to horizontal and increases the percentage of bodyweight being pulled.
Choose an angle that allows the body to remain rigid and the shoulder blades to move naturally. Record the strap height and foot position when comparing sessions.
Technique overview
Pull the chest toward the handles
Lean back with the arms extended and maintain a straight line through the torso and legs. Initiate the row by drawing the shoulder blades back and bending the elbows. Pull the chest toward the handles without lifting the hips or arching the lower back. Lower under control until the arms are extended and the shoulders remain supported.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
