Cable Glute Bridge
The Cable Glute Bridge adds low-pulley resistance to a floor bridge. The glutes extend the hips against the cable while the hamstrings assist and the lower back stabilizes the torso. The cable must be positioned so the attachment remains secure across the hips.
Training context
Before adding the Cable Glute Bridge
The exercise can provide direct glute resistance without balancing a barbell. However, getting into position may be awkward depending on the cable machine and attachment.
Use padding and a secure belt or handle arrangement that cannot slide toward the abdomen. The cable path should remain clear of the feet and legs.
Technique overview
Keep the attachment centered on the hips
Lie on your back with the cable attachment secured across your hips and feet planted. Drive through the feet to raise the hips, pause at a controlled top position, and lower slowly. Keep the attachment from shifting and avoid arching the lower back to create extra height.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
