Cable Reverse Crunch
The Cable Reverse Crunch adds low-pulley resistance to a bent-knee reverse crunch. An ankle attachment connects both legs to the cable while the abdominals draw the knees inward and curl the pelvis from the floor. The movement should remain controlled despite the cable pulling the legs away.
Training context
What is the Cable Reverse Crunch?
The main action is a small backward roll of the pelvis after the knees move toward the torso. Simply pulling the knees closer without lifting the hips reduces the abdominal curl that defines the exercise.
The pulley should align with the lower legs in the starting position. Use enough distance from the machine to maintain tension without allowing the attachment to rub against the ankles.
Technique overview
Curl the pelvis instead of swinging
Lie on the mat with your knees bent to roughly 90 degrees and the cable aligned with your legs. Bring the knees inward, then use the abdominals to lift the hips slightly. Lower the pelvis first and return the legs slowly. Stop before momentum or neck tension begins to control the repetitions.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
