Cable Russian Twists
Cable Russian Twists combine a stability-ball bridge with resisted torso rotation. The body lies across the ball with the hips elevated while both hands hold a cable handle above the chest. The abdominals control the turn away from the pulley and the return.
Training context
Setup cues for Cable Russian Twists
This is a demanding setup because the ball can move while the cable pulls from the side. Use a light load, clear the surrounding floor, and position the pulley so the cable remains aligned with the hands.
The hips should stay elevated as the upper torso rotates. If the ball rolls or the feet lose their position, reset instead of trying to recover under tension.
Technique overview
Keep the hips lifted during the rotation
Lie across the ball with both feet planted and the body supported from the head to the knees. Hold the handle above the chest and rotate away from the pulley through a controlled quarter turn. Pause briefly, then return without allowing the hips to drop. Reposition the entire setup before training the opposite side.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
