Exercise guide
Cable Wrist Curl
The Cable Wrist Curl is a seated forearm exercise performed with a straight bar attached to a low pulley. The forearms rest on the thighs while the palms face upward and the wrists move through a short curling range. The cable maintains resistance throughout the movement.
Training context
Setup cues for the Cable Wrist Curl
Position the bench close enough to the pulley that the cable remains aligned with the bar. The wrists should extend slightly beyond the knees while the forearms stay fully supported.
Use a light load because the movement occurs through the wrists rather than the elbows or shoulders.
Technique overview
Move only through the wrists
Rest your forearms on your thighs with the bar held palms-up. Allow the wrists to lower through a comfortable range, then curl the bar upward without lifting the forearms. Pause briefly and return slowly. Keep the grip secure and avoid allowing the cable to pull the wrists down abruptly.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
