Exercise guide
Frog Sit-Ups
Frog Sit-Ups are performed with the soles of the feet together and the knees opened outward in a diamond-shaped position. The abdominals curl the shoulders and upper torso through a short range while the lower body remains relaxed.
Training context
Muscles Worked by Frog Sit-Ups
The abdominals flex the torso and help keep the lower back controlled. The open-leg position reduces the usual straight-ahead leg setup used in many crunches and sit-ups.
The hips and knees should remain comfortable. There is no need to force the outer thighs against the floor or pull the feet excessively close to the pelvis.
Technique overview
Use a short abdominal curl
Lie back with the soles together, knees open, and arms crossed over the chest. Curl the shoulders and upper torso from the floor without pulling the legs or throwing the arms forward. Pause briefly, then lower slowly. Keep the movement small enough that the lower body remains still.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
