Kettlebell Windmill
The Kettlebell Windmill combines an overhead hold with a rotated hip hinge. The abdominals stabilize the torso while the hamstrings and glutes control the hips and the shoulder and triceps keep the kettlebell overhead.
Training context
How the Kettlebell Windmill Differs
The athlete does not simply bend sideways. The hips shift back and toward the loaded side while the torso rotates enough for the free hand to travel toward the floor.
The floor is not a required destination. Use the range allowed by hamstring mobility, shoulder stability, and the ability to keep the kettlebell stacked securely.
Technique overview
Keep the kettlebell stacked over the shoulder
Set the feet at an angle and press the kettlebell overhead. Watch the bell, shift the hips back, and lower the free hand along the inside of the leg. Keep the loaded arm vertical and the support shoulder active. Drive the hips forward to return upright without allowing the bell to drift.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
