Leg Pull-In

The Leg Pull-In is a floor-based abdominal exercise that alternates between an extended-leg position and a tucked-knee position. The abdominals stabilize the pelvis while the hip flexors move the thighs.

Training context

Using Leg Pull-Ins in a Workout

The exercise can be made easier by keeping the knees more bent or reducing how far the feet move away from the body. Extending the legs lower and farther increases the demand on the trunk.

The lower back should remain comfortable. A larger range is not useful if it causes the pelvis to tip forward and the back to arch sharply.

Technique overview

Control the extension as carefully as the tuck

Lie on the back with the hands beside the body or beneath the hips for support. Draw the knees toward the chest while lightly curling the pelvis, then extend the legs away without letting them drop. Return to the tuck before the lower back loses position.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
