Exercise guide
Single Leg Glute Bridge
The Single-Leg Glute Bridge extends one hip while the opposite leg remains lifted. The glutes provide the main movement, with the hamstrings assisting and the trunk keeping the pelvis stable.
Training context
Setup Cues for the Single-Leg Glute Bridge
Place the working foot close enough that the heel can remain firmly grounded. The raised leg may stay bent or extend slightly as long as the pelvis remains controlled.
A regular two-leg bridge is the appropriate progression when the hips rotate or the hamstring cramps repeatedly.
Technique overview
Raise the hips without rotating the pelvis
Lie with one foot planted and the opposite leg raised. Press through the working foot to extend the hip while keeping both sides of the pelvis level. Pause near the top, then lower slowly until the hips return to the floor.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
