Exercise guide

Toe Touchers

Toe Touchers are a bodyweight abdominal exercise performed with the legs raised above the hips. The torso lifts toward the feet while the lower back and leg position remain controlled.

Training context

Muscles Worked by Toe Touchers

The abdominals flex the torso toward the elevated legs and control the return to the floor. Reaching the toes is not required if doing so causes the legs to swing, the neck to strain, or the lower back to lose contact with the floor.

Keep the leg angle and knee bend consistent when comparing sets. A smaller controlled torso lift is more useful than a larger repetition created by momentum.

Technique overview

Lift the shoulders without swinging the legs

Lie face up and raise the legs toward vertical with a slight bend in the knees. Extend the arms toward the feet and lift the shoulders and upper back using the abdominals. Pause at the highest controlled position, then lower slowly. Keep the legs steady and avoid pulling the head forward to create extra range.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
