Weighted Sit-Ups - With Bands

Weighted Sit-Ups with Bands combine a decline bench with band resistance anchored behind the body. The abdominals flex the torso while the bands become more demanding toward the top of the movement.

Training context

Muscles Worked by Band-Resisted Sit-Ups

The decline angle and band tension both affect difficulty. The anchors, handles, and leg supports must remain secure before the torso begins moving.

Record the bench angle, band type, anchor point, and hand position. These details can change the resistance substantially even when the repetition count remains the same.

Technique overview

Keep the bands secure and the torso controlled

Check the band anchors and secure the legs in the decline bench before taking the handles. Hold the handles near the shoulders and raise the torso without pulling with the arms. Stop at a controlled upright position, then lower slowly against the bands. End the set if an anchor shifts or the bands pull the torso unevenly.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
