Calf Raises - With Bands
Band Calf Raises add elastic resistance to a standing calf raise. The band runs beneath the feet and is held near the shoulders while the calves lift the heels. Band tension increases as the body rises.
Training context
Muscles worked by Band Calf Raises
The calves extend the ankles and raise the heels from the floor. The rest of the body maintains balance and keeps the band positioned evenly.
Stand on the middle of the band so both sides have equal length. Inspect the band before use and avoid placing damaged elastic under tension near the face.
Technique overview
Keep equal tension on both sides
Stand on the band with your feet planted and the handles held near the shoulders. Press through the balls of the feet to raise both heels. Pause at the top, then lower slowly until the heels return to the floor. Keep the knees and torso steady and avoid bouncing through the repetitions.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
