Calf Stretch Hands Against Wall
The Calf Stretch with Hands Against the Wall uses a staggered stance to stretch one calf at a time. The rear leg remains extended as the body leans toward the wall. Hand support makes it easier to control the amount of pressure.
Training context
What is the standing wall calf stretch?
The stretch is created by keeping the rear heel down while the body moves forward. Stance length and the amount of lean determine the intensity.
The rear foot should point mostly forward and remain fully planted. Shorten the stance if the heel lifts or the ankle feels forced.
Technique overview
Keep the rear heel on the floor
Place one foot behind you and both hands on the wall. Keep the rear knee straight or softly extended as you lean forward from the ankles. Hold a mild stretch for 10 to 20 seconds, then step out carefully and switch legs. Avoid bouncing or turning the rear foot sharply outward.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
