Exercise guide
Front Cable Raise
The Front Cable Raise trains one shoulder at a time using a low pulley positioned behind the body. The working arm lifts forward while the cable provides resistance from the beginning of the range. The opposite side remains still until the set is complete.
Training context
Setup Cues for the Front Cable Raise
Face away from the pulley and stand far enough forward to create light tension without allowing the cable to rub against the body. The handle should begin near the front of the thigh.
The arm does not need to travel above shoulder height. Stop where the shoulder remains comfortable and the torso stays upright.
Technique overview
Raise the arm without leaning backward
Stand tall with a slight elbow bend and the palm facing down or slightly inward. Lift the handle forward to a controlled shoulder height without swinging or arching the back. Pause briefly, then lower slowly. Complete the set before recreating the same cable position on the other arm.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
