Front Incline Dumbbell Raise
The Front Incline Dumbbell Raise is performed while leaning against an incline bench. The supported torso reduces the ability to swing the weights and places the shoulders under tension as the arms lift forward.
Training context
Why Use an Incline Front Raise?
Bench support creates a fixed torso angle and can make the movement more strict than a standing front raise. Changing the incline also changes the relationship between gravity, the arms, and the shoulder.
The elbows should remain softly extended rather than forcibly locked. Use a light weight and stop near shoulder height when necessary.
Technique overview
Keep the head and torso supported
Set the incline securely and rest the head and back against the bench. Begin with the dumbbells just above the thighs and raise both arms forward without changing the elbow angle. Stop at a comfortable shoulder height, pause, and lower slowly. Keep the feet planted throughout the set.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
