Kettlebell Turkish Get-Up (Lunge style)
The lunge-style Turkish Get-Up moves from lying to standing while one kettlebell remains locked overhead. The shoulder and triceps stabilize the bell, while the abdominals and legs control the transitions through seated, kneeling, and split-stance positions.
Training context
The Lunge-Style Get-Up Sequence
This version reaches a half-kneeling lunge before the athlete stands. Each transition should be treated as its own stable position rather than one continuous rush from the floor.
Practice the sequence without weight or while balancing a light object on the closed fist. The kettlebell should be added only after the movement order is familiar.
Technique overview
Pause at every stable position
Press the kettlebell over the working shoulder with the same-side knee bent. Roll to the opposite elbow and hand, lift the hips, bring the free knee underneath, and rise into a lunge. Stand while keeping the bell stacked overhead. Reverse each step deliberately to return to the floor.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
