Kettlebell Turkish Get-Up (Squat style)
The squat-style Turkish Get-Up attempts to move from the floor into a feet-supported squat before standing with the kettlebell overhead. The shoulder and triceps stabilize the load while the abdominals and lower body control the transitions.
Training context
How the Squat-Style Get-Up Differs
This is less standardized than the traditional half-kneeling Turkish Get-Up. The source does not clearly explain how the athlete moves from seated to both feet while maintaining the overhead arm.
Because the transition is ambiguous and demands substantial mobility, practice it without a kettlebell and under qualified coaching before adding load. The lunge-style Get-Up is generally easier to define and reproduce.
Technique overview
Establish the squat before attempting to stand
Begin with the kettlebell stacked over the shoulder and move to a supported seated position. Transition the feet underneath only if the overhead arm, shoulder, and trunk remain stable. Settle into a balanced squat before standing. Reverse the same positions slowly instead of dropping back toward the floor.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
