Exercise guide
Lying Crossover
The Lying Crossover is a partner-assisted rotational stretch with one bent knee crossed over the body. The athlete first tries to lift the knee against resistance, then relaxes while the partner guides it slightly closer to the floor.
Training context
Areas Addressed by the Lying Crossover
The position may affect the outer hip, glutes, abductors, and lower back. The partner also stabilizes the opposite shoulder to control how much rotation occurs through the torso.
The knee does not need to reach the floor. Both people should communicate continuously and avoid sudden pressure.
Technique overview
Use equal resistance before relaxing
Cross the bent leg over the body and establish a comfortable rotational position. Attempt to lift the knee while the partner supplies enough pressure to prevent movement. Relax fully, then allow a small increase in range. Return to the center before changing sides.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
