One-Arm Kettlebell Jerk
The One-Arm Kettlebell Jerk drives a racked kettlebell overhead using the legs before receiving it with a second knee bend. The shoulder and triceps stabilize the finish while the lower body creates most of the upward momentum.
Training context
How the Kettlebell Jerk Differs
Unlike a strict press, the jerk uses both a powerful leg drive and a second dip beneath the bell. This allows the arm to reach lockout while the body moves into the receiving position.
The dip should remain vertical. Leaning or allowing the kettlebell to drift forward makes the overhead catch harder to control.
Technique overview
Drive the bell up, then move beneath it
Start with the kettlebell settled in the rack. Dip through the knees, extend the legs forcefully, and guide the bell upward. Re-bend the knees as the arm locks overhead, then stand fully. Lower the bell back to the rack with control before the next repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
