Exercise guide

One-Arm Kettlebell Military Press To The Side

The One-Arm Kettlebell Military Press To The Side is a nonstandard press variation in which the bell begins in the rack and travels upward and slightly outward. The shoulders and triceps press the load while the trunk, glutes, and lats stabilize the body.

Training context

Keeping the Press Controlled

Because the exercise name and outward path are not standardized, the shoulder should determine the usable direction and range. The bell must still finish balanced over a stable base rather than remaining far outside the body.

Use a light kettlebell while learning the path. Avoid leaning excessively in the opposite direction to create more clearance.

Technique overview

Finish with the bell balanced overhead

Clean the kettlebell into a secure rack and brace the trunk. Press upward through a comfortable slightly outward path while watching the bell if needed. Reach a stable overhead position without side-bending, then lower slowly back to the shoulder.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
