Exercise guide
One-Arm Kettlebell Push Press
The One-Arm Kettlebell Push Press combines a short leg drive with an overhead press. The quadriceps and calves initiate the movement, while the shoulder and triceps guide and stabilize the bell overhead.
Training context
Who May Find the Kettlebell Push Press Useful?
The push press can help move more weight overhead than a strict press and develops coordination between the lower and upper body. It may also be used when practicing repeated kettlebell power work.
Unlike a jerk, the knees do not bend a second time to receive the bell. Finish standing tall after the initial drive.
Technique overview
Dip vertically before driving the bell overhead
Settle the kettlebell in the rack and brace the torso. Bend the knees slightly without folding forward, then extend the legs quickly and continue the movement with the arm. Finish with the bell stable overhead and lower it back to the rack before resetting.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
