One-Arm Kettlebell Snatch
The One-Arm Kettlebell Snatch uses a powerful hip-driven swing to move the bell into one uninterrupted overhead finish. The legs and posterior chain generate force while the shoulder, triceps, upper back, trunk, and grip stabilize the catch.
Training context
Before Adding the Kettlebell Snatch
The one-arm swing, clean, and overhead lockout should each be comfortable before practicing the full snatch. A bell that is too heavy often loops outward and strikes the forearm.
Use enough open space for the backswing and overhead position. Stop when the bell path, grip, or lockout becomes inconsistent.
Technique overview
Punch the hand through as the bell rises
Hike the kettlebell between the legs and extend the hips to accelerate it upward. Keep the bell close as the elbow bends and the hand rotates around the handle. Punch toward the ceiling so the bell settles quietly against the forearm in a stable overhead position.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
