One-Arm Kettlebell Split Jerk
The One-Arm Kettlebell Split Jerk uses leg drive to send a racked bell overhead while the feet move into a split receiving position. The lower body generates force and balance, while the shoulder and triceps stabilize the kettlebell.
Training context
How the Split Jerk Differs
The split stance provides a lower and potentially more stable receiving position than a push press. It also requires consistent foot placement and an organized recovery sequence.
Practice the split and recovery without weight before adding the kettlebell. Both the lead and rear foot should land in positions that allow balance and a vertical torso.
Technique overview
Receive first, then recover the feet
Dip vertically from the rack, drive the bell upward, and move the feet into a front-to-back split as the arm locks overhead. Stabilize before stepping the front foot partially back and the rear foot forward. Bring the feet together only when the bell remains balanced overhead.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
