Reverse Flyes
Reverse Flyes are chest-supported dumbbell raises that train the rear shoulders and upper back. The incline bench reduces the need to hold a bent-over torso and limits momentum.
Training context
Who May Find Reverse Flyes Useful?
The exercise may suit lifters seeking direct rear-shoulder work or an accessory movement after rows and presses. Chest support can make the setup more stable than a standing bent-over fly.
Use light dumbbells. The long arm position creates substantial leverage, and heavy loading often turns the movement into a shrug or row.
Technique overview
Sweep the arms outward while the chest stays supported
Lie securely against the incline bench with the dumbbells hanging beneath the shoulders. Maintain a soft elbow bend and raise the arms outward through a wide arc. Stop before the shoulders shrug or the chest lifts, then lower slowly.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
