Exercise guide
Shoulder Stretch
The Shoulder Stretch brings one straight arm across the chest to create a mild stretch through the back and outside of the shoulder.
Training context
Keeping the Shoulder Stretch Controlled
The opposite arm may support the working arm above or below the elbow. Avoid pressing directly onto the elbow joint or forcing the shoulder forward.
The shoulder should remain down rather than rising toward the ear. Stop for pinching, numbness, or tingling.
Technique overview
Guide the upper arm gently across the chest
Reach one arm across the body at shoulder height. Use the opposite forearm to draw it slightly closer while keeping the working shoulder relaxed. Hold a mild stretch, release slowly, and repeat on the other side.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
