Exercise guide
Side Laterals to Front Raise
Side Laterals to Front Raise combines two shoulder-raise paths within alternating repetitions. The shoulders move the dumbbells while the traps and trunk stabilize the changing arm position.
Training context
Why Combine Front and Lateral Raises?
The combination can add variety and extended time under tension without using heavy weights. It also challenges control while the arms move between the front and side positions.
The transition at shoulder height should remain slow. If moving across the top causes discomfort, perform the front and lateral raises as separate exercises.
Technique overview
Control the transition at shoulder height
Raise the dumbbells through the first planned path with the elbows softly bent. At shoulder height, move them gradually between the front and side positions without shrugging. Lower under control, then reverse the sequence on the next repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
