Standing Palm-In One-Arm Dumbbell Press
The Standing Palm-In One-Arm Dumbbell Press uses a neutral grip and support from the free hand. The shoulders and triceps press the weight while the support reduces the balance demand.
Training context
Using the Supported One-Arm Press
Holding a stable bench or rack can help the lifter focus on the pressing arm without fighting unnecessary balance. The neutral grip may also feel comfortable for the shoulder.
The support should remain light and the bench must not move. Log the same supported or unsupported version consistently.
Technique overview
Press vertically while the support remains light
Stand beside a stable support with the dumbbell at shoulder height and palm facing inward. Brace the torso and press overhead without leaning toward or away from the weight. Lower to the same elbow position and switch arms after completing the set.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
