Two-Arm Kettlebell Jerk
The Two-Arm Kettlebell Jerk begins with both kettlebells in the rack position and uses the legs to drive them overhead. The shoulders are listed as the primary muscle group, while the quadriceps, calves, and triceps contribute to the dip, drive, and lockout.
Training context
Setup Cues for the Two-Arm Kettlebell Jerk
The rack position must be stable before the jerk begins. Both kettlebells should rest securely against the forearms and torso while the feet provide a balanced base.
This is a technical movement. Use light kettlebells until the first dip, upward drive, second dip, and final stand can be connected without the bells drifting apart or falling behind the body.
Technique overview
Drive first, then move under the kettlebells
Begin from a secure double-rack position. Dip slightly through the knees, drive upward, and use that force to send the kettlebells overhead. As they rise, dip again to receive them with the arms extended, then stand to complete the repetition. Lower the bells back to the rack under control before resetting.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
